חדוה פנסטרהיים

חדוה נולדה וגדלה בניו-יורק, בבית, קהילה ובתי-ספר אורתודוקסים ציוניים ועלתה ארצה בשנת 1985.  חדוה בעלת תואר ראשון בכלכלה וספרות עברית מאוניברסיטת קולומביה שבניו-יורק ובעלת תואר שני במנהל עסקים (MBA) מאוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים.  לחדוה רקע עשיר וניסיון רב שנים ביזמות, בניהול, ובשיווק במגזר העסקי והחברתי. עבדה בבורסה בניו-יורק לפני שעלתה ארצה.  בארץ התעסקה בתחום המחקר שוק כיועצת עצמאית, היתה שותפה בהקמת חברת היי טק בשנים המוקדמות של הענף בארץ, הקימה וניהלה חברת סירו בע"מ, רשת קמעונאית בזכיינות מחברת אם בארה"ב ובאנגליה, היתה מנהלת בכירה הרבה שנים בקרן הפילנתרופית רשת הון סיכוי לישראל, והיום משמשת כיועצת אסטרטגית ליזמים עסקיים חברתיים.  תחום ההתנדבות הוא בעל ערך עליון לחדוה ומאז ומתמיד היא פעילה בהתנדבות לחברה ולקהילה.  בין היתר, היא כיהנה כיו"ר וסגן יו"ר וועד ההורים בכל בי"ס בו ששת בניה למדו, ושימשה כמשפחה מאמצת לחיילים בודדים ביחידות צה"ל בהן בניה שירתו, ועבור תכנית נתיב.   מתוך תסכול רב מפיצול מערכת החינוך הציבורית לבתי ספר ממלכתיים וממלכתיים דתיים, ומתוך אמונה אידיאולוגית שארון הספרים היהודי שייך לכל יהודי ללא קשר להגדרת זהותו היהודית ולאורח חייו, ומתוך אמונה אידיאולוגית שחינוך יהודי פלורליסטי מגיע לכל יהודי באשר הוא, ומתוך היכרות עמוקה במערכת החינוך הישראלית והרבה שנות פעילות במאמץ לשפר ולתקן מבפנים, חדוה ושותפיה החליטו שאין מנוס מלהקים בי"ס הדוגל באידיאולוגיה זו.  בשנת 2001 התחברו לראשונה, ב-2002 הקימו את עמותת הורים לחינוך פלורליסטי, ובספטמבר 2003, בהובלתה של  חדוה, נפתחו דלתות בי"ס על-יסודי שש-שנתי מיתרים רעננה.   

Hedva Fensterheim

Hedva was born and raised in New York, in a Zionist Orthodox home, community and schools, and immigrated to Israel in 1985. Hedva holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Hebrew Literature from Columbia University in New York and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Hedva has a rich background and many years of experience in entrepreneurship, management, and marketing in the business and social sectors. Before immigrating to Israel, Hedva worked at the stock exchange in New York. In Israel, she engaged in market research as an independent consultant, was a partner in the establishment of a high-tech company in the early years of the industry in Israel, founded and managed Ciro Ltd., a US-UK franchise retail chain, was a senior manager for many years at Israel Venture Network (IVN), a philanthropic organization leading the field of impact investment in Israel, and today she serves as a strategic consultant for social and business entrepreneurs. The field of volunteering is of supreme value to Hedva and she has always been active in volunteering for society and the community. Among other things, she served as chairperson and vice-chairperson of the parents' committee at every school where her six sons attended, and served as an adoptive family for lone soldiers in the IDF units where her sons served, as well as for the Nativ program. Out of great frustration with the historic separation of the public education system into secular and religious state schools, and out of ideological belief that The Jewish Bookcase belongs to every Jew regardless of his/her Jewish identity and lifestyle, and out of ideological belief that every Jew deserves a Jewish education, and out of a deep familiarity with the Israeli education system and many years active in an effort to improve from within, Hedva and her partners decided that it was up to them to create the change and the only way to do so is by establishing a school that advocates this ideology. In 2001, they connected for the first time, in 2002 they established the Parents' Association for Pluralistic Education RA, and in September 2003, under Hedva’s leadership, the doors of the Meitarim Ra'anana six-year secondary school opened.
